Creation
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. |

Moses
Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, to freedom, and received the Ten Commandments from God. |
Ruth and Naomi
Ruth showed great kindness to her mother-in-law, Naomi. |
David
David was a shepherd boy who grew up to become Israel’s greatest king. He wrote many of the Psalms in the Bible. |
Elijah
Elijah was a prophet who told the Israelites to obey God. He rode to heaven in a chariot of fire. |

Joseph
Joseph was Mary’s husband. He took good care of Mary and Jesus. |
Andrew
Andrew was the first disciple. |
Peter JUNE
Peter was one of Jesus’ closest disciples. Jesus washed Peter’s feet to teach him about helping others. |
James
Jesus celebrated the first Holy Communion with James and the other disciples the night before he died. |
John
John was called the Beloved Disciple. He was at the cross when Jesus died. Read the story of John |
Mary Magdalene
Mary Magdalene was the first person to see Jesus after he rose from the dead. She ran to tell the other disciples.

Thomas DECEMBER
Jesus showed Thomas the holes in his hands so that Thomas would not doubt that he was alive. |
Stephen
Stephen was the first deacon. He helped the poor people in the Church. |
Paul
Paul was a missionary: he told people about Jesus and started churches. Paul wrote many books of the Bible. |
Ignatius of Antioch
Ignatius was a bishop who loved Jesus so much that he chose to die rather than deny that Jesus was God. |
John Chrysostom JANUARY
John was a bishop. His sermons were so beautiful that people called him Chrysostom, which means “honey-tongued.” |
Communion of Saints
There are, and will be, many other wonderful Christians. (How about YOU?) Then someday, all Christians—of every color, country, language, and time—will live together in peace with God. |
